Bank lines - Viewing and deleting automatic references

Automatic references are used to automatically assign incoming bank transactions to the appropriate category and sub-category based on a unique reference and amount. This article explains how to view existing automatic references and remove references that are no longer required.

1. Viewing automatic references

  1. Navigate to Bank > Add auto-reference (or Financials > Unassigned lines > View auto-references).

  2. This page lists details of all current auto-references, including the unique reference, amount, category and sub-category.

  3. If any secondary auto-references have been added, an amount will appear within the Multi line column. Click on this amount to view details of any secondary auto-references.

2. Deleting automatic references

To delete an automatic reference added in error or one that is no longer required (for example, for a tenant who has moved out), please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Bank > Add auto-reference (or Financials > Unassigned lines > View auto-references).

  2. Locate the auto-reference to be removed

  3. Within the Delete column, click on the red cross icon

Note: Automatic references cannot be edited, so they must be deleted and re-added if any changes are needed.
