Tenancy - Uploading a new tenancy agreement template

Note: Properties with the Management type set as Rent Collection will show on the Tenants > Create Tenancy page therefore please set the Agreement type as Residential when uploading.

1. Uploading a new tenancy agreement template (Scottish clients)

  1. Go to Tenants > Create tenancy

  2. Click on Tenancy agreements

  3. Click on + New template

  4. In the Title field, give your template a name. We recommend choosing something easily identifiable

  5. Select the relevant Area

  6. Choose the Agreement type for this template: Residential (fully-managed), Let-only, Bedsit or Company

  7. Within the large editable text box, type in the text of this new template or right-click and select Paste as plain text

  8. Click Update tenancy agreement

  9. This template will now be available as an option to select when creating a tenancy

2. Uploading a new tenancy agreement template (All other clients)

  1. Go to Tenants > Create tenancy

  2. Click on Tenancy agreements

  3. Click on + New template

  4. Set the Title for the new template. We recommend choosing something easily identifiable

  5. Select the relevant Area

  6. Choose the relevant Agreement type: Residential (fully-managed), Let-only, Bedsit or Company

  7. Select the Choose File button and locate the template to be uploaded

  8. Click Update tenancy agreement

  9. This template will now be available to select as an option when creating a tenancy

3. Using merge fields within a tenancy template

Variable data entered into SME Professional, which is specific to the tenancy (eg your tenant’s names and details, or the rent values and payment dates), can be pulled through to generated tenancy agreements through the use of the merge fields.
