1. Editing an existing tenancy template (Scottish clients)
Go to Tenants > Create tenancy
Click on Tenancy agreements
Locate the template in question
Click the pencil icon within the Edit column
The current text of the template will appear in a large editable text field
Amend the text as required
Click Update tenancy agreement

2. Editing an existing tenancy template (All other clients)
Go to Tenants > Create Tenancy
Click on Tenancy agreements
Locate the template in question
Click on the pencil icon within the Edit column
Amend the Title so that it is different from the previous one. This will prevent any caching of the old template
To download a copy of the current template, click on Click here to view the uploaded template
Amend the Word document as required. Once changes have been finalised, save a copy of this file
Go back to SME Professional and click on Choose File
Select the document that is to be used to override the existing template
Click on Update tenancy agreement
3. Using merge fields within a tenancy template
Variable data entered into SME Professional, which is specific to the tenancy (eg your tenant’s names and details, or the rent values and payment dates), can be pulled through to generated tenancy agreements through the use of the merge fields.
