The pro rata rent calculation within SME Professional can work either on a 365 days a year basis or a monthly basis. Both calculations are explained below for your reference.
365 basis: This calculation is completed by taking the monthly rent, multiplying by 12 months and dividing by 365 days. This figure is then multiplied by the number of days for the pro rata calculation.
Monthly basis: The monthly rent figure is divided by the number of days in that month (eg June = 30 days) then multiplied by the number of days for the pro rata calculation
The system default is for this to be calculated on a 365 basis. If you would like your system updated to use the monthly basis calculation then please raise a ticket with our support team.
