Bank lines - Ignoring bank lines

Updated over 6 months ago

Users needing to delete manual bank lines can set them to ignored. This removes the bank transaction from view on the system so that it does not affect any balances.

Users should only ignore transactions that have been created on the system (manual, cash, credit, or cheque lines). Client transactions should never be ignored unless advised, as they represent transactions that have been imported from your bank statement.

Ignoring a bank line

  1. Navigate to Bank > View bank lines

  2. Locate the manual transaction

  3. Click the edit pencil icon

  4. Expand the Category dropdown and select Business

  5. Expand the Subcategory dropdown and select Ignore this bank line

  6. Enter a relevant description

  7. Click Submit

Users can view ignored bank transactions by clicking on Bank > View bank lines or Financials > Unassigned lines and using the filter to view Ignored lines from the top left dropdown.

Some processes result in lines being ignored by the system, which will also show on the ignored lines page. Other lines on this page include:

  1. The manual line associated with a deduction that has been deleted

  2. The manual line associated with a BACS payment which has been rolled back

  3. The original client line for a payment that has been split
