1. Rent increase letter

1.1 Uploading and generating a rent increase notice

We provide our clients with a rent increase template that can be accessed through the SME Professional documents portal.​

This template already includes the required merge fields and is ready to be uploaded. Click on Download document to download a copy of the template. Please note, we do recommend that clients revise all templates before they are uploaded for use to ensure they are suitable for your business.

If this template is unsuitable, users can make amendments to it or create their own rent increase template. Please click here for further guidance on creating a new template.

Note: For our franchise clients, your Central Office has created rent increase letter templates for their branches to use, which can be accessed through your franchise documents portal. The URL link and password to your documents portal are provided in your onboarding document.

2. Updating the ledger

  1. Go to Lettings properties > View properties

  2. Locate the property in question

  3. In the View column, expand the dropdown and select Ledger (tenant)

  4. Click on + Update due dates

  5. Select the date on which the rent increase is to start

  6. Update the rent amount to reflect the increase

  7. Ensure the payment frequency is correct

  8. Click Submit

Any due date on or after the selected date will be updated to reflect this rent increase.
