Tenants - Tenant is moving to another agent managed property

Updated over 7 months ago

When a tenant moves from one property to another, which is also under your management, we recommend copying the tenant record for linking to the new property. This way, there will still be a record of this tenant and their tenancy at the previous property.

1. Copying the tenant

  1. Go to Tenants > View tenants

  2. Locate the tenant in question

  3. Click on the edit pencil icon

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the record and click on Copy

  5. From the dropdown, select the new property this tenant is to be linked to

  6. Click Submit

Note: If the end tenancy process was completed before copying the tenant record, the copied record (new tenant record) will have a status of Move out date given and hold a move out date. If this is the case, please follow the steps listed below to update this:

  1. Go to Tenants > View tenants

  2. Locate the new tenant record

  3. Click on the edit pencil icon

  4. Expand the Client status dropdown and select the relevant option

  5. Open the Dates tab

  6. Locate the Move out date field and click on the red cross to clear it

  7. Click Update tenant

2. End previous tenancy

Users will need to end the tenancy for this tenant against the old property, at the time notice is given. For guidance on how to end a tenancy, please click here.
