Please see the below guide for the most common queries regarding uploaded files. For guidance on how to access uploaded files, click here.
โ
1. Which documents are stored in the uploaded files?
Any documents generated within SME Professional are stored within the uploaded files section against a property. This can include generated tenancy agreements, statements, brochures, and window cards. Documents that are manually uploaded, such as safety certificates or property photographs are also stored here.
2. Can these documents be shared using a link?
If a document has been generated as a PDF, the file link can be obtained from here and shared with a recipient. Statements and tenancy agreements are examples of this.
To obtain a link, users can click the PDF file to view it in their browser. The URL for this file can then be copied from the browser address bar. This can also be obtained by right-clicking the file and selecting "Copy link address".
Any documents generated in Microsoft Word format can only be downloaded directly from the document folder.
3. Do document links expire?
Document links do not expire, and the link provided will continue to remain valid. In some circumstances, you can disable the link if the document is removed from the folder or the filename is changed.
4. Why would we provide some documents as links?
A link is provided rather than a physical document so access to the file can be controlled. For example, if an incorrect statement was generated and sent out, it can be deleted from the uploaded files folder to prevent the recipient from accessing it. This applies to sensitive documents such as tenancy agreements, statements and maintenance work orders.
5. Is there a limit to how large an uploaded file can be?
SME Professional can host individual files up to 20MB.
