Accessibility - Clearing browser cache

Browsers will store cache data on previously visited websites (For example, copies of pages, images and other media content) to allow these sites to load content faster the next time you visit.

SME Professional updates with new releases regularly and sometimes these releases require you to clear your browser's cache memory to allow the new updates to pull through.

If something looks odd on a page or it won't load properly, please follow the guidance below on how to clear your browser cache.

Google Chrome

  1. In the top right-hand corner of Chrome, click the menu button (⋮)

  2. Select Delete browsing data

  3. Choose All time as the time range

  4. Ensure the Cached images and files box is ticked. You can leave the Browsing history and Cookies options un-ticked

  5. Click Clear data

Safari

  1. Go to History > Clear History

  2. Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared on the pop-up menu.

  3. Click Clear history

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the menu button (≡) and choose Options

  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel

  3. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data

  4. Remove the tick against Cookies and Site Data

  5. With Cached Web Content ticked, click the Clear button

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click on the three dots button (⋯) and choose

    History

  2. Click the bin icon

  3. Choose All time as the time range

  4. Make sure that Cached images and files is selected

  5. Click Clear

Internet Explorer

Note: Internet Explorer has now become a deprecated browser and been replaced by Microsoft Edge, therefore we advise to upgrade to any other browsers above to benefit from the latest security updates and the optimal operation of SME Professional
