End tenancy - Unwinding the end tenancy process

Updated over a month ago

Should the end tenancy process have been completed, but now needs to be reverted eg if tenants are no longer leaving the property, then the steps below can be followed to unwind the end tenancy process.

Updating the rent in ledger

  1. Go to Lettings properties > View properties

  2. Expand the View dropdown and select Ledger (tenant)

  3. Click on Update due dates

  4. Select the date in which the tenant(s) paid their last full months' rent. The payment period and the rent amount values can be left as is

  5. Click Submit- this will create rent due lines for the next 5 years and will cancel out the previous end tenancy process in which future rent due lines were removed.

Updating system dates

  1. Go to Tenants > View tenants

  2. For each tenant, click the pencil icon within the Edit column

  3. In the Tenant details tab, change the status for all tenants from Move out date given to In residence

  4. In the Dates tab (far right), click the red cross icon next to the 'Move out date' field to clear that field

  5. Click 'Update tenant'

  6. In the property record, change the Property Status to Occupied

Tenant changes their move out date:

Please follow the steps above to undo the original end tenancy process. The End Tenancy procedure can be repeated for further correction if this is required or if the tenant has specified a new move out date.
